The Assumption Knights baseball team scored 16 runs and held the host Newman Catholic Knights to 7 in the Knights non-league win on Saturday.

The Knights now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dowling Catholic for a non-league test on Saturday, June 7. Assumption will clash with a Maroons team coming off a 5-3 league loss to Johnston (Johnston, IA). The Maroons record now stands at 2-4.

With the defeat, Newman Catholic drops to 8-5 on the year. The Knights host East Buchanan (Winthrop, IA) to clash with the Buccaneers in a non-league test on Tuesday, June 10. The Buccaneers go into the test with a record of 8-2. East Buchanan lost 9-3 in their recent league test against Maquoketa Valley (Delhi, IA)
