The crowd at Saturday's non-league battle between the Cherokee Washington Braves (Cherokee, IA) and the host West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA), saw Cherokee Washington's baseball team gain a win over West Monona by a tally of 9-4.

The Braves (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against Storm Lake (Storm Lake, IA). The Tornadoes enter the Lakes battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Storm Lake held off Woodbury Central (Moville, IA), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Spartans face the Ridge View Raptors (Holstein, IA) in a Western Valley battle, on Monday, June 9. West Monona will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Raptors enter the battle with a 4-2 record after their 10-1 non-league loss to Woodbine (Woodbine, IA).
