The North Butler Bearcats softball team scored 8 runs and held the host Clear Lake Lions to 0 in the Bearcats non-league win on Saturday.

The Bearcats now sport a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Nashua-Plainfield for a Top of Iowa-East battle on Monday, June 9. North Butler will confront a Huskies team coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Hudson (Hudson, IA). The Huskies record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, Clear Lake moves to 8-3 on the season. The Lions host St. Edmond (Fort Dodge, IA) to confront the Gaels in a North Central battle on Monday, June 9. The Gaels come into the battle with a record of 9-2. St. Edmond won 11-0 in their recent non-league battle against Gehlen Catholic (Le Mars, IA)
