In Saturday's non-league match, the host Sioux City West Wolverines softball team scored a tight 11-10 victory over the River Valley Wolverines.

The Wolverines (1-2) will now prepare for their match against Woodbury Central (Moville, IA). The Wildcats go into the non-league match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Woodbury Central tipped Lawton-Bronson (Lawton, IA), 17-6, in a league match.

In their next game, the Wolverines battle the Woodbury Central Wildcats (Moville, IA) in a Western Valley match, on Monday, June 9. River Valley will attempt to better on its 1-7 season record. The Wildcats go into the match with a 7-1 record after their 7-4 non-league win over South O'Brien (Paullina, IA).
