Anamosa Raiders (Anamosa, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Davenport Central Blue Devils (Davenport, IA), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dubuque Senior for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 10. Anamosa will battle a Rams squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to North Scott (Eldridge, IA). The Rams record now stands at 9-7.

With the loss, Davenport Central falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, IA) to clash with the Spartans in a Mississippi Athletic game on Monday, June 10. The Spartans come into the game with a record of 14-1. Pleasant Valley won 16-8 in their recent non-league game against Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA)
