The West Monona Spartans got by the host Central Springs Panthers softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Saturday's non-league battle.
The Spartans (15-2) will now prepare for their battle against Woodbury Central (Moville, IA). The Wildcats go into the Western Valley battle with a 12-3 record. In their last battle, Woodbury Central nudged Pocahontas (Pocahontas, IA), 5-0, in a non-league battle.
The Panthers now sport a 8-2 record. They play next when they host Ridge View for a non-league battle on Saturday, June 8. Central Springs will meet a Raptors squad coming off a 6-5 league win over Woodbury Central (Moville, IA). The Raptors record now stands at 4-4.
