Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA), 10-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Akron-Westfield upgrades its record to 20-8 on the season. The Westerners host Woodbine (Woodbine, IA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league test on Wednesday, July 5. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 16-6. Woodbine won 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Westwood (Sloan, IA)

With the defeat, West Monona falls to 0-16 on the season.
