The Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks got by the visiting Crestwood Cadets softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Wednesday's league challenge.
Next, the Go-Hawks meet the Clear Lake Lions (Clear Lake, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, July 7. Waverly-Shell Rock will attempt to upgrade on its 15-8 season record. The Lions go into the challenge with a 16-9 record after their 7-6 non-league win over North Union (Armstrong, IA).
The Cadets (17-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Charles City (Charles City, IA). The Comets go into the Northeast Iowa challenge with a 14-13 record. In their last challenge, Charles City held off Waukon (Waukon, IA), 10-2, in a league challenge.
