The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the North Polk Comets (Alleman, IA) and the visiting Dowling Catholic Maroons (West Des Moines, IA), observed North Polk's softball team get by Dowling Catholic by a tally of 7-2.

The Comets (29-5) will now prepare for their bout against Ankeny (Ankeny, IA). The Hawks go into the non-league bout with a 11-22 record. In their last bout, Ankeny was routed by Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA), 8-5, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Maroons clash with the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs (Dallas Center, IA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, July 3. Dowling Catholic will attempt to advance on its 8-12 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 28-5 record after their 10-7 non-league loss to Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA).
