Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Boone Toreadors (Boone, IA) and the host Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA), witnessed Boone's softball squad tip Waverly-Shell Rock by a count of 3-1.

The Toreadors now sport a 15-16 record. They play next when they travel to North Polk for a non-league match on Saturday, July 8. Boone will face a Comets squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Ballard (Huxley, IA). The Comets record now stands at 28-4.

With the loss, Waverly-Shell Rock moves to 11-19 on the season.
