Pensacola Area Homeschool Phoenix (Pensacola, FL) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Aletheia Christian Academy Lions (Pensacola, FL), 2-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, Pensacola Area Homeschool improves its record to 3-1 on the season. The Phoenix travel to Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Walton Beach, FL) to encounter the Patriots in a non-league test on Saturday, August 10. The Patriots go into the test with a record of 0-0.
The Lions now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Hill Christian for a non-league test on Thursday, August 15.
Match Summary
In the interim between matches, the group woke up, got energized, and took to heart the input from their coaches and captains. Undaunted by their drop into the "loser's bracket" they came out firing against Aletheia, and defanged the Lady Lions in two sets. This time they worked together to follow the incoming balls better, control the ball on their side of the net and rain down effective serving onto the opposite court, completely taking the wind out of their opponents' sails.
