In Thursday's non-league battle, the visiting Pine Tree Pirates volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the New Boston Lions.

The Pirates (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Ore City (Ore City, TX). The Rebels go into the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, Ore City was tipped by New Diana (Diana, TX), 3-0, in a non-league bout.

The Lions now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Beckville for a non-league bout on Thursday, August 11. New Boston will play a Bearcats squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Central Heights (Nacogdoches, TX). The Bearcats record now stands at 1-1.
