The Pirates (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against North Hopkins (Sulphur Springs, TX). The Panthers come into the non-league battle with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, North Hopkins nudged Whitewright (Whitewright, TX), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Mustangs clash with the Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, August 13. Hughes Springs will attempt to advance on its 0-3 season record. The Tigers come into the battle with a 4-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Miller Grove (Cumby, TX).
