Loganville Red Devils (Loganville, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Clarke Central for a 5A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, August 15. Loganville will battle a Gladiators squad coming off a 17-0 non-league win over Central Gwinnett (Lawrenceville, GA). The Gladiators record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Monroe Area falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Purple hurricanes host Dacula (Dacula, GA) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 12. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Dacula won 9-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Jackson County (Jefferson, GA)
