The Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) soccer overwhelmed the host North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC), 10-1 in Tuesday's non-league challenge.
The Greyhounds now hold a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Alexander Central for a non-league challenge on Monday, August 18. Statesville will face a Cougars team coming off a 6-1 non-league loss to Newton-Conover (Newton, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 0-1.
The Vikings (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Cardinals enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, East Surry gained a win over North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 7-0, in a non-league contest.
