Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) and the visiting Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS), observed Newton County's volleyball team top Sumrall by a count of 3-1.

The Cougars (9-2) will now prepare for their contest against Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS). The Tigers enter the non-league battle with a 2-1 record.

The Bobcats now own a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Jones for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 14.
