In Monday's non-league contest, the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) volleyball squad prevailed the host Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC), by a score of 2-0.

The Patriots now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Chapel Hill for a non-league test on Thursday, August 17. Pinecrest will confront a Tigers team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Leesville Road (Raleigh, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 0-1.
