The East Rutherford Cavaliers (Bostic, NC) soccer overwhelmed the host Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), 5-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
The Cavaliers now hold a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Polk County for a non-league contest on Monday, August 18. East Rutherford will face a Wolverines team coming off a 5-2 non-league win over West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Wolverines record now stands at 1-0.
The Patriots (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC). The Mustangs enter the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Smoky Mountain nudged Swain County (Bryson City, NC), 7-0, in a non-league challenge.
