In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Hemphill Hornets volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Deweyville Pirates.

The Hornets (1-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Silsbee (Silsbee, TX). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Silsbee gained a win over Hudson (Lufkin, TX), 2-1, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now sport a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hardin-Jefferson for a non-league test on Friday, August 15. Deweyville will face a Hawks squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Woodville (Woodville, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 0-1.
