In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Valley Christian Academy Lions volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Santa Maria Saints.

The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Orcutt Academy (Orcutt, CA). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 1-0 record.

The Saints now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coast Union for a non-league test on Tuesday, August 19. Santa Maria will face a Broncos squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Bishop Diego (Santa Barbara, CA). The Broncos record now stands at 1-2.
