The Jefferson Dragons overwhelmed the host Jackson County Panthers softball squad by a count of 8-2 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Dragons meet the West Hall Spartans (Oakwood, GA) in a 3A Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, August 20. Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record.

The Panthers (0-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Clarke Central (Athens, GA). The Gladiators go into the 5A Region 8 challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, Clarke Central was routed by Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (Winder, GA), 6-5, in a non-league challenge.
