North Carolina High School Volleyball - Ayden - Grifton edged by Grimsley

Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Grimsley upgrades its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Whirlies travel to Sun Valley (Monroe, NC) to meet the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 16. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Sun Valley won 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC)

The Chargers now sport a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Mecklenburg for a non-league test on Saturday, August 16. Ayden - Grifton will play a Eagles team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 1-1.
