The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Gatesville Hornets (Gatesville, TX) and the host Richards School for Young Women Leaders (Austin, TX), observed Gatesville's volleyball team hold off Richards School for Young Women Leaders by a tally of 2-1.

The Hornets (6-2) will now prepare for their test against Stevens (San Antonio, TX). The Falcons go into the non-league test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, Stevens tipped Rivera (Brownsville, TX), 2-1, in a non-league test.

The now own a 0-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host McCallum for a non-league test on Friday, August 15. Richards School for Young Women Leaders will meet a Knights team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Akins (Austin, TX). The Knights record now stands at 4-0.
