In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Sterling Raiders volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers.

The Raiders (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Sharpstown (Houston, TX). The Apollos come into the 5A Region III District 21 challenge with a 0-0 record.

Next, the Tigers play the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats (Daisetta, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 19. Houston Math Science & Tech will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
