The Mission Eagles volleyball squad (Mission, TX), was edged 2-1 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Sharyland Rattlers (Mission, TX)

With the win, Sharyland moves its record to 7-1 on the year. The Rattlers travel to McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 5A Region IV District 31 contest on Tuesday, August 19. The Mustangs enter the contest with a record of 2-0. McAllen Memorial won 2-0 in their recent non-league contest against Weslaco (Weslaco, TX)

In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 battle, on Tuesday, August 19. Mission will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Mustangs go into the battle with a 1-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over La Grange (La Grange, TX).
