River Ridge Knights (Woodstock, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cherokee Warriors (Canton, GA), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now own a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, August 18. River Ridge will battle a Lions squad coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Heard County (Franklin, GA). The Lions record now stands at 6-0.

With the loss, Cherokee falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Warriors host Kennesaw Mountain (Kennesaw, GA) to battle the Mustangs in a 7A Region 5 challenge on Thursday, August 18. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Kennesaw Mountain won 1-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Allatoona (Acworth, GA)
