In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Bronte Longhorns volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Eastland Mavericks.

The Longhorns (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Reagan County (Big Lake, TX). The Owls come into the non-league challenge with a 1-6 record. In their last challenge, Reagan County was nudged by Grape Creek (San Angelo, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Mavericks meet the Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 16. Eastland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Badgers come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Albany (Albany, TX).
