The Irvine Vaqueros volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the visiting Costa Mesa Mustangs to 1 in the Vaqueros non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Vaqueros now have a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Sage Hill for a non-league outing on Saturday, August 16. Irvine will play a Lightning team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Crean Lutheran (Irvine, CA). The Lightning record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Costa Mesa drops to 1-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to La Quinta (Westminster, CA) to play the Aztecs in a non-league game on Tuesday, August 19. The Aztecs go into the game with a record of 3-1. La Quinta won 3-0 in their recent non-league game against Magnolia (Anaheim, CA)
