Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Neshoba Central Rockets (Philadelphia, MS) and the visiting Starkville Yellowjackets (Starkville, MS), observed Neshoba Central's volleyball team top Starkville by a count of 2-0.

The Rockets (8-2) will now prepare for their contest against New Albany (New Albany, MS). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 3-4 record. In their last battle, New Albany was defeated by Oxford (Oxford, MS), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Yellowjackets now own a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Germantown for a Class 7A Region 2 battle on Tuesday, August 19. Starkville will encounter a Mavericks squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS). The Mavericks record now stands at 3-5.
