Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the West Lauderdale Knights (Collinsville, MS) and the host South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), observed West Lauderdale's volleyball team top South Pontotoc by a count of 2-0.

The Knights (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Clarkdale (Meridian, MS). The Bulldogs enter the non-league battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Clarkdale was defeated by Lake (Lake, MS), 3-1, in a league battle.

The Cougars now own a 3-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Neshoba Central for a non-league battle on Saturday, August 16. South Pontotoc will encounter a Rockets squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Rockets record now stands at 2-2.
