The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Commerce Tigers to 4 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Mount Vernon moves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Mount Pisgah Christian (Johns Creek, GA) to clash with the Patriots in a 1A D-I Region 6 game on Tuesday, August 23. The Patriots come into the game with a record of 2-0. Mount Pisgah Christian won 15-0 in their recent league game against Galloway (Atlanta, GA)

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Madison County Red Raiders (Danielsville, GA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, August 20. Commerce will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Red Raiders come into the game with a 3-3 record after their 7-2 league loss to Seckinger (Buford, GA).
