The Independence Patriots football team (Charlotte, NC), was beaten 28-14 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC)

The Mavericks (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Buford (Buford, GA). The Wolves come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Buford achieved victory over St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, MD), 18-0, in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Hickory Ridge for a non-league challenge on Friday, August 25. Independence will meet a Ragin' Bulls team coming off a 48-41 non-league loss to Robinson (Concord, NC). The Ragin' Bulls record now stands at 0-1.
