In Thursday's non-league game, the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) football team knocked off the visiting West Caldwell Warriors (Lenoir, NC), by a score of 22-8.
The Spartans (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Red Tornadoes come into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Hickory toppled Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 18-6, in a non-league game.
The Warriors now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to R-S Central for a non-league game on Thursday, August 25. West Caldwell will battle a Hilltoppers team coming off a 54-8 non-league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 0-1.
