In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Carmel Christian Cougars soccer squad scored a close 1-0 win over the Marvin Ridge Mavericks.
The Cougars (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Concord Academy (Concord, NC). The Eagles go into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Concord Academy was nudged by Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap, GA), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
The Mavericks (0-2) will now prepare for their battle against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs go into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record.
