Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting SouthLake Christian Academy (Huntersville, NC), 9-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans face the Davidson Day Patriots (Davidson, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 23. Gaston Day will attempt to better on its 2-1 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 4-0 non-league win over Cannon (Concord, NC).

The now have a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Concord Academy for a NCISAA Metrolina challenge on Monday, August 22. SouthLake Christian Academy will face a Eagles team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Carmel Christian (Matthews, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 1-2.
