Polk County Slammers (Stromsburg, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Highway 91 (Leigh, NE), 13-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Slammers now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Raymond Central for a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 20. Polk County will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 12-0 non-league loss to Aquinas (David City, NE). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Highway 91 falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The travel to Wayne (Wayne, NE) to battle the Blue Devils in a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 20. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Wayne lost 12-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Blair (Blair, NE)
