North Carolina High School Football - North Stanly nips Anson

In Friday's non-league match, the host North Stanly Comets football squad scored a close 17-12 victory over the Anson Bearcats.

In their next game, the Comets clash with the East Rowan Mustangs (Salisbury, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 25. North Stanly will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Mustangs enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 51-10 non-league loss to North Rowan (Spencer, NC).

The Bearcats (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league test with a 1-0 record. In their last test, Sun Valley got by Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 49-14, in a non-league test.
