In Friday's non-league match, the host Elgin Comets football squad scored a good 30-0 victory over the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates.
In their next game, the Comets clash with the Ridgedale Rockets (Morral, OH) in a Northwest Central match, on Friday, August 25. Elgin will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Rockets enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 20-6 non-league win over Hilltop (West Unity, OH).
The Pirates (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Columbus Academy (Gahanna, OH). The Vikings enter the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Columbus Academy ran past Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (Cincinnati, OH), 35-12, in a non-league match.
