The Northwood Chargers football team (Pittsboro, NC), was beaten 35-21 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Riverside-Durham Pirates (Durham, NC)

The Pirates (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Sanderson (Raleigh, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Sanderson achieved victory over Corinth Holders (Wendell, NC), 35-7, in a non-league challenge.

The Chargers now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Union Pines for a non-league challenge on Friday, August 25. Northwood will meet a Vikings team coming off a 41-12 non-league loss to Triton (Erwin, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 0-1.
