Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) boosters exited the stadium pleased Monday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 9-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Laney moves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Croatan (Newport, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league outing on Monday, August 25. The Cougars go into the outing with a record of 1-1. Croatan won 3-1 in their recent non-league outing against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders (Raleigh, NC) in a non-league outing, on Wednesday, August 20. Pinecrest will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record.
