In Friday's non-league match, the host Ashe County Huskies football squad scored a good 51-36 victory over the Wilkes Central Eagles.

In their next game, the Huskies clash with the North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 26. Ashe County will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 43-14 non-league win over Elkin (Elkin, NC).
