The Laney Wildcats (Augusta, GA) football defeated the visiting Strom Thurmond Rebels (Johnston, SC), 16-0 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Wildcats face the Hephzibah Rebels (Hephzibah, GA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, August 26. Laney will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Rebels enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 32-3 non-league win over Westside (Augusta, GA).
