Lanier County Bulldogs (Lakeland, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tiftarea Academy Panthers (Chula, GA), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bainbridge for a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 20. Lanier County will battle a Bearcats squad coming off a 13-6 non-league loss to Wayne County (Jesup, GA). The Bearcats record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Tiftarea Academy falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Wilcox County (Rochelle, GA) to face the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 20. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 6-0. Wilcox County won 11-3 in their recent league challenge against Wheeler County (Alamo, GA)
