The Pope John Paul II Knights held off the host Science Hill Hilltoppers soccer squad by a margin of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league match.
The Knights now sport a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to Greenwood for a non-league match on Thursday, August 24. Pope John Paul II will clash with a Gators squad coming off a 7-0 league win over Warren Central (Bowling Green, KY). The Gators record now stands at 3-1.
The Hilltoppers (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN). The Indians go into the AAA District 1 game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Dobyns-Bennett nipped Jefferson County (Dandridge, TN), 2-0, in a non-league game.
