The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS) and the host Brookhaven Panthers (Brookhaven, MS), saw Wayne County's volleyball squad nip Brookhaven by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Wayne County upgrades its record to 2-6 on the year. The War Eagles host Laurel (Laurel, MS) to play the Golden Tornadoes in a Class 5 Region 5 bout on Monday, August 21. The Golden Tornadoes go into the bout with a record of 0-5. Laurel lost 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS)

The Panthers now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to Terry for a non-league bout on Monday, August 21. Brookhaven will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Wingfield (Jackson, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-2.
