The Newport Wildcats topped the host Gallatin County Wildcats volleyball team by a score of 2-0 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Wildcats now have a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Newport Central Catholic for a District 36 test on Wednesday, August 23. Newport will confront a Thoroughbreds team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Conner (Hebron, KY). The Thoroughbreds record now stands at 0-4.

The Wildcats (2-3) will now prepare for their test against Williamstown (Williamstown, KY). The Demons enter the non-league test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Williamstown was knocked off by Trimble County (Bedford, KY), 2-0, in a non-league test.
