The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) and the host Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY), saw Johnson Central's volleyball squad beat Russell by a tally of 2-0.
With the win, Johnson Central upgrades its record to 5-1 on the year. The Golden Eagles travel to Lawrence County (Louisa, KY) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, August 26. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 3-0.
The Red Devils now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Raceland for a District 63 bout on Tuesday, August 22. Russell will play a Rams squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY). The Rams record now stands at 2-0.
