In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Tug Valley Panthers volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Prestonsburg Blackcats.

The Panthers (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Martin County (Inez, KY). The Cardinals come into the non-league battle with a 1-2 record.
