With the win, West Marion upgrades its record to 8-1 on the year. The Trojans travel to West Jones (Laurel, MS) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Saturday, August 19. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 2-4. West Jones lost 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS)

The War Eagles now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they host Laurel for a Class 5 Region 5 bout on Monday, August 21. Wayne County will play a Golden Tornadoes squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS). The Golden Tornadoes record now stands at 0-5.
