Munster Mustangs (Munster, IN) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Hobart Brickies (Hobart, IN), 4-1 in a league test.
With the victory, Munster improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Northridge (Middlebury, IN) to confront the Raiders in a non-league outing on Friday, August 22. The Raiders go into the outing with a record of 1-0. Northridge won 8-0 in their recent non-league outing against East Noble (Kendallville, IN)
Next up, the Brickies confront the Boone Grove Wolves (Valparaiso, IN) in a non-league test, on Saturday, August 23. Hobart will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Wolves come into the test with a 2-0 record after their 4-2 non-league win over Griffith (Griffith, IN).
Match Summary
Munster kicked off conference play with a 4–1 victory over Hobart. The Mustangs’ offense was firing on all cylinders, led by Maya Maldonado, who netted two goals to set the tone early. Keya Patel and Lucy Lagunas each added a goal to round out the scoring.
Midfielder Lilly Ursino was instrumental in the attack, tallying three assists. Munster’s defense held strong throughout, limiting Hobart’s chances and maintaining control of the match.
